Pouring oil over astrology books

A news report from PTI was published in different places - New Indian Express, Mumbai Mirror, New Kerala, NDTV, etc.

Apparently, our CEC-to-be, Mr. Gopalaswami is pouring over astrology books. The article does not clarify what exactly he is pouring - water, phenyle, castor oil.

Or, maybe they meant 'poring over the books'. Can someone in PTI pour (sic) over the dictionary and let me know?
